Chijioke Edeoga Biography

Chijioke Edeoga is a Nigerian  journalist, politician, and lawyer born on the 2nd of October 1964 to the family of Mr. Jonathan & Mrs. Jemimah Edeoga of Omelor Mgbuyi, Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo LGA, Nigeria.

Chijioke started his political career in 1992 when he was appointed as the press secretary by executive governor of Enugu state, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.

He was also elected chairman of Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu state.

Chijioke was elected into the house of representatives where he became the chairman, House committee on information and thus, spokesman for the house.

He was also an adviser on legislative matters to the deputy president of the Nigerian senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

Chijioke was appointed as the special assistant to former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on national assembly matters.

He is a former commissioner for environment in Enugu and is the governorship candidate in 2023 for Labour Party.

He had initially contested the governorship ticker for the people’s democratic party (PDP), but he lost to Peter Mbah. He then left PDP in July 2023 and joined Labour Party.
