An innocent bride collapsed at her wedding on Saturday and was rushed to the hospital after her groom walked out on her when it was time to exchange the vows.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the groom-to-be identified as Rufus Aplang left his supposed bride, Judith and guests in a state of shock in Plateau State when he simply walked away, refusing to continue with the marriage.
The wedding event was reportedly taking place at the Godâs Glory Ministry in Jos over the weekend when Rufus Aplang pulled the surprise, saying âI made up my mind 10 years ago to disgrace her on our wedding dayâ.
It is not clear what offence Judith had committed against her fiancé over a decade ago that he made up his mind not to forgive but retaliate her so painfully.
An eyewitness, Miss Julian Dogo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Jos, that the fleeing groom gave shocking answers to the pastor while he was taking his marital vows.
âAplang was asked on the altar by the pastor, do you take Judith as your wife for batter for worse? Then he replied with a No.
âThe pastor put the same question to him, and he replied, âPastor, I heard you clearly, and understand English very well and my answer is still Noâ
âThen the pastor said to him, but you are well dressed and came ready for this wedding, and he replied, âsorry, I made up my mind 10 years ago to disgrace her on our wedding dayâ
âAs soon as he said that, he walked out of the church, and was followed by his best man and his friends who drove out of the church premises,â
Dogo told NAN.
Whatever Judith did to Rufus, she was not expecting to be paid back in such an embarrassing way. She collapsed and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital around Plateau State Polytechnic in Jos.
